Duo Rùnya was officially founded by Bonatesta sisters (Arianna and Diana) in 2015.
In 2014, Arianna Bonatesta (piano) and Diana Bonatesta (viola) graduated with honours with their Duo
formation in Chamber Music - Biennio Specialistico di II livello (II levels’ specialized two-years period)
at Conservatorio G. Briccialdi (exceptionally attending B. Lupo and A. Kravtchenko’ Masterclass) in
As Duo Rùnya, they graduated in chamber music at High Perfection’s Academy of Fiesole and at High
Perfection’s Academy of Music “Trio di Trieste”, under the lead of Trio di Parma.
Duo Rùnya won the second prize at Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition 2017” in
Salzburg, and performed at Wiener Musik Saal of Mozarteum in Salzburg.
In 2016, for the label Aevea/Naxos, Duo Rùnya recorded on its first CD Rebecca Clarke’s works for viola
The CD has been globally distributed and it has been awarded with great reviews on prestigious
magazines as The Strad, Gramophone U.K., and Diapason Magazine (in which it has been awarded with a
Five Stars Review).
Currently, Duo Rùnya plays in the most prestigious Seasons for Chamber Music as “Filarmonica Umbra”,
“Gli Amici del Teatro de La Scala”, “Forlì Open Music”, “Ravello Festival”, “Ravenna Festival”, Sala
Baldini in Rome for the Festival delle Nazioni, “Festival Casa Menotti” in Spoleto (Festival dei Due
Mondi), “Triennale di Venezia”, Mozarteum, Salzburg, Royal Albert Hall, London,Kleine Zaal,

Arianna Bonatesta was born in Rome in 1988.
She has been studying piano since she was 6 years old.
She debuted as solo pianist at the age of 9 at Associazione “Invito alla lettura” of Castel Sant’Angelo in
She graduated in 2010 (I level degree) at Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome, under the lead of A.
She performed two concert-lessons on F. Chopin’s studies at J. S. Bach Academy and at Associazione
Under the lead of C. Guaitoli, she graduated with highest grades in 2012 (solo piano, II level degree) at
Conservatorio G. Briccialdi in Terni; she graduated with highest grades in 2014 (chamber music, II level)
with Angelo Pepicelli, playing in duo with Diana Bonatesta as violist.
As solo pianist, she attended international masterclasses of Michele Campanella, Bruno Canino, Aldo
Ciccolini, Alexander Lonquich, Sergio Perticaroli, Carlo Guaitoli, and Joaquin Achucarro; she also
attended International chamber music’s masterclasses led by Trio di Parma, Benedetto Lupo, and Anna
At very young age, she collaborated with Conservatorio di S. Cecilia, playing as soloist as well as pianist
with orchestra, performing at University of Tunis (Department of Architecture) with oboist C. Napoli and
at Festival dei Mondi “Il Maggio” in Spoleto (organized by Z. Metha).
In 2010 she founded Quintetto Prysma.
With Quintet Prysma, she studied at International Academy of Music in Sacile, under the lead of Zaldron,
Redaelli, and Simoncini.
In 2010 she founded Quintetto Amarté (piano and strings).
With Quintetto Amarté, she studied at International Academy of Music of Trio di Trieste with D. De
Rosa, M. Jones, R. Zanettovich, and E. Bronzi, being awarded with scholarship as best chamber music
formation of 2010-2011.
With Quintetto Amarté, she won an absolute first prize both in the national competition “Magliano
Sabina” and “G. Rospigliosi” and perfomed at prestigious locations as the Academic Hall at
Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome, the “Festival dei Due Mondi” in Spoleto, the Castello Miramare
in Trieste, the University of Molise,the Revoltella Museum in Trieste, the Associazione “Caos” in Terni,
and the Keiros Theatre in Rome.
She also did one tour in Sicily, performing in Piedimonte, Mascali, Linguaglossa, Fiumefreddo, and
She was awarded as best young professional musician in 2005.
In 2013 she was awarded with “Best Career Award” by Comune di Roma (city of Rome) and was invited
to play as piano soloist at Cassia Theatre in Rome.
She attended the International Academy in Fiesole; the International Chamber Music Academy, led by
Trio di Parma; the High Improvement Academy with Trio di Trieste, M. Jones, and E. Bronzi; the
International Academy of Ars Trio di Roma in Rome; the International Academy of Sacile with S.
Redaelli, D. Zaltron, and L. Simoncini.
In 2014, she graduated with honours in Chamber Music at Istituto G. Briccialdi in Terni.
In 2017, she has been invited as visiting Professor at International Courses of High Perfection of Norcia.
She was Professor of Pianoforte at Conservatorio “Pollini” Padova, Italy.
At the moment, Arianna Bonatesta (pianist) and her sister Diana Bonatesta (viola) play together in Duo
Diana Bonatesta born in Rome in 1983; in 1987 she began playing violin.
At the age of 10 she joined viola’s class at Conservatorio di S. Cecilia, studying with Paolo Centurioni for
Under M. Burton’s lead, she graduated with honours (Diploma) as well as cum laude (Biennio
Specialistico di II livello – II levels’ specialized two-years period).
During the two-years period, she also studied with F. Fiore and L. A. Bianchi.
She attended the high perfection’s course with Marco Fiorentini as well as Trio Tchaikovsky’s (K.
Bogino – A. Liebermann) Masterclasses at Arts Academy in Rome.
Under the lead of R. Filippini, she was awarded with High Perfection’s Diploma in Ensemble Music at
Accademia di S. Cecilia; she was also awarded with Viola’s Diploma (with honours), after having studied
with M. Paris.
For her brilliant outcome with High Perfection’s Diploma in viola as well as for having been the best
graduate of all Italian Music Academies, she was awarded with the “G. Sinopoli” scholarship at
Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia as best graduate of the year and she was also awarded with a
honourable mention by the President of the Italian Republic Giorgio Napolitano, during a formal
ceremony at Palazzo del Quirinale.
She studied with B. Giuranna both at High Perfection’s Academy “W. Stauffer” and at Accademia
Chigiana in Siena (summer courses).
In 2007 she founded Quartetto Avos, playing there as violist.
With Quartetto Avos, she won prestigious prizes in International Competitions as “Trio di Trieste”, “V.
Gui”, and “Zinetti”, and she performed in important locations as “La Fenice” Theatre in Venice as well as
in Italy, Netherlands, and Japans (2 tours); she also recorded her first CD with pieces of Brahms and
In 2011 Quartetto Avos recorded the two Quartets with piano of C. S. Saëns and W. A. Mozart for
Brilliant and OnClassical labels.
With Quartetto Avos, she attended Ensemble Music’s class with Trio di Trieste and Alban Berg Quartet
(G. Pichler – V. Erben), being awarded with scholarship, “Diploma di Merito”, Monte dei Paschi di
Siena’s Prize, and in 2010 the Accademia Chigiana’s Diploma of Honour (the eighth Honour’s Diploma
ever awarded by Accademia Chigiana).
She studied with Trio di Trieste, M. Jones and E. Bronzi, attending the International Course of High
Perfection at “Collegio del Mondo unito” in Duino (Trieste) for 4 years; she also studied with Quartetto
Alban Berg (G. Pichler-G. Shultz-I. Charisius-V. Erben), attending the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in
She has been invited as Professor to teach at perfection’s corse of viola and chamber music.
Having won the relative competition, she collaborated as assistant with Orchestra Nazionale di S. Cecilia
e del Teatro dell'Opera di Roma.
In 9 July 2011 she performed with E. Virsaladze and N. Gutmann, playing R. Schumann’s Quintet for
piano and strings at Festival Pontino 2011.
In 2013 she played as first viola in Soloists Chamber Orchestra at Hulencourt Art Project (Bruxelles); she
also played that year R. Schumann’s Quintet with Ars Trio di Roma and G. Mahler quartet with piano
with K. Bogino.
In July 2013, she partecipated at World Premiere of DECALOGO part. 1 at Festival dei Due Mondi of
She attended AIM Academy of Rome with Ars Trio and K. Bogino.
When M. Jones organized the last concert of her prestigious career, she performed R. Strauss’s Quartet
op. 13 at Politeama Rossetti (Trieste).
In 2014, she graduated with honours in Chamber Music at Istituto G. Briccialdi with her sister Arianna
